I have been very much looking forward to working on Death Company, and the ETL event over at B&C has been a good prompt...
Despite having first played a game with a set of 'proxy' (cardboard token) Death Company in my very first game in 1994, this is the first time I have actually painted any.
Airbrushed dudes, plus the 2 chaplains - Lemartes (middle top of first pic) and jump pack chaplain (middle top in second pic).
These have progressed with red and metals, but still very much a wip - red over black has taken a couple of coats to build up (so a few stray marks have crept in)... but it is starting to get some of the classic Death Company look.
Obviously... heads are still missing, and the minis are just resting on the bases while WIP - it's much easier to paint eyes/etc while heads are separate, and this time I left some blu tac blobs in during airbrushing which (hopefully) means I can get some good plastic to plastic contact (rather than superglue) at the end.
Unit is made up of 11 Bolt Pistol/Chainsword combos, 2 with bolter/powerfist, 1 powersword and 1 thunder hammer. In addition to 3 squads of 5x, I have a 16th dude made from leftover parts who will carry a banner with some DC markings. He will count as BP/CS, but should look stylish out in front.
Finally, my box of 'bits'. Heads, plus 2 full sets of jump packs and regular ones which have been magnetised for swapping.
So... still quite a bit to go actually.
